Understanding Jupiter Transits (video)

Understanding Jupiter Transits - Tara Nikita

In this video I discuss the meaning of Jupiter transits in natal astrology. Whenever Jupiter changes signs, astrologers tend to foresee good news for those with major placements in the sign that Jupiter has entered. The premise is that Jupiter in the signs brings the fulfillment of expansive, abundant, and lucky potentials.

Though Jupiter transits promise expansion, these transits often demand that we let go or give up something, that we leave our old limits behind, and this can be something that takes a while for the conscious mind to adjust to. Jupiterian expansion takes us in the direction our soul wants us to go in, and they demand that we leave behind our old sense of possibilities and potentials – which we may have become very attached to.

Approaching the New Moon in Pisces on March 17, 2018

New moon in Pisces - March 17 2018 - Tara Nikita

Approaching the new moon in Pisces on Saturday, March 17. The Sun and Moon join Chiron in Pisces. Sun-Moon squares Mars and trines Jupiter.

For the last few weeks we have been under the influence of a strong Pisces signature. The Virgo moon at the beginning of the month had a strong Pisces subtone, with its ruler, Mercury, in Pisces. The Sun and Neptune, both in Pisces, opposed the full Moon.

We spoke back then of that Virgo full moon, representing the collective mood, being motivated to fix and solve problems out of deep feelings of dissatisfaction, hurt, sadness, loss and wounding. We spoke about this in relation to the latest school shootings/resurgence of gun-control discourse in the United States.

This new moon in Pisces invites us into a fresh new understanding. Joining up with Chiron and trining Jupiter in Scorpio, the new moon asks us to reflect on Chiron’s message: wounds, hurt, sadness and loss (Pisces-Scorpio) are the KEYS TO HIGHER SPIRITUAL CONSCIOUSNESS (Pisces).

Approaching the Full Moon in Virgo on March 1, 2018

Full Moon - Tara Nikita

Approaching the full moon in Virgo on Thursday, March 1 – Mercury joins Venus in Pisces and trines Jupiter in Scorpio. The Sun joins Neptune in Pisces.

With the full moon in Virgo, the collective mood is more attuned to what needs fixing. The collective mood is plugged in to the very Virgoan need to identify a problem, and apply mental energy to fixing it.

This full moon is opposite the Sun and Neptune in Pisces; we also have Mercury, governing this Virgo moon, sitting in Pisces. The Pisces – Virgo tension: Virgo wants to get down to the immediate business of improving things on the physical plane. Pisces, however, is not so attuned to fixing physical, mundane reality in the same way.

Spirit Guides: A Slightly Different Approach

Spirit Guides: a slightly different approach - Tara Nikita

We all have guides. I sort of prefer the term “soul guides”, as it brings back the recognition that on a soul level, we are already very intimately familiar with our guides, many of whom have worked with us over the course of many lives, and across many timelines and existences. I like the term “soul guides” too because the work our guides undertake with us has everything to do with our soul trajectory, and soul growth.

Our guides are interested in the accomplishment of the tasks and objectives that we set out for ourselves before coming here, before taking on a new human personality and integrating with our human host bodies. These tasks and objectives are the tasks and objectives of our souls.

As an intuitive practitioner, I encounter people who want to understand more about their spirit guides – what their names are, how they look. There is often, in spiritual communities, an insatiable curiosity about “guides”, and the first port of call on the spiritual quest of many folks in these communities is “meeting their guides.” Cue downloaded guided meditation, and voila, guides show up in all their glory.

Let’s get real about the third eye

lets-get-real-about-the-third-eye-tara-nikita

It’s no secret that I love eye symbology. Eye symbology is tattooed on my back, as well as on my ankle. When I go out with my back exposed, it seems to always invite people to strike up a conversation. Am I a Christian. Is it the evil eye. Do I “believe in” Jesus. Am I trying to watch my back (how novel).

The truth about tattoos is that they are very often “notes to self.” They are symbolic reminders of hard-earned wisdom – wisdom we don’t ever want to forget. So we etch it into our skin. Fortified by the pain of our learning experience, the pain of getting a tattoo seems comparatively negligible. The beautiful and curious thing about tattoos is that as we evolve in consciousness, so does the meaning of our tattoos. I got my first eye tattooed on my back seven or eight years ago, and a lot has changed in my vista of reality since then.

If I dared to etch this sacred symbol on my back, then, looking back retrospectively, it seems that I was sending a message to the multiverse. In etching this symbol on my skin, I was in effect announcing my readiness to learn what it really meant. In some way I must have been stating that I wanted to qualify for wearing it.

So here is what I’ve learned thus far: the third eye isn’t for kids.

Making Progress By Doing Nothing

making-progress-by-doing-nothing-tara-nikita

I love to write. I love to produce content. Love, love, love. As I sit down in front of my laptop, the words come. They flow. It’s like something or someone is pouring words into my being, and the words come through my fingertips. It’s this beautiful symbiosis of heart, mind, brain and hands.

But….

I’ve done nothing since July. I haven’t sat down to write a single post or article; I haven’t brought through the guides, I haven’t recorded a single podcast. And, guess what? It’s been one of the most strangely “productive” and fruitful periods I’ve had.

On parenting: how can awakening parents best parent their children?

From the guides:

This is a question that we know is of great personal interest to you. This is a very timely and important question. Parenting in this time on the planet is tricky…it is challenging for parents who would be oriented toward a certain kind of consciousness and who want to raise their children with let’s say, more “humanistic” values…values that are in-keeping with the harmony of the planet, with the raising of consciousness on the planet.

There is much to be desired in terms of the state of children and the state of parenting on your planet…there are many challenges which arise. One of which is your media, and the kinds of things that children are exposed to. One of which is the internet, and parenting in the age of the internet. We know you sense the challenges inherent in parenting on the planet at this time. The first thing we want to point out to you is this: that balance is needed in terms of how this issue is perceived.

The Law of Attraction Isn’t An Excuse To Feel Bad

The law of attraction isn't an excuse to feel bad - Tara Nikita

The law of attraction was never meant to be used an excuse to feel bad. It was never meant to be used a basis upon which to berate oneself for “manifesting” some unwanted thing. We were never meant to use ‘attracting’ unwanted things as a basis to extrapolate that we are flawed, or wrong.

The self- responsibility inherent in the maxim that we “create our own reality” was never meant to go hand in hand with self-blame when something unwanted happens. Responsibility and blame are not energetically equivalent.

Because of our limited understanding of this (albeit spectacularly simple) law, and because as humans we seem to be suckers for self-flagellation and feelings of unworthiness (we simply don’t have enough time here to discuss all the reasons why), we often tend to think in this way: “Because I have ‘attracted’ this unwanted thing into my life, I must be doing something wrong.” And then we intensify and amplify our experience of the unwanted things in our lives by:

Solstice Affirmation & Meditation

Summer Solstice Tara Nikita

I felt very moved to share a summer solstice affirmation and meditation. I invite you, if you feel resonant with these words, to say them aloud, or to perhaps take some time out of your day for private reflection. We are collectively in such volatile and tumultuous times. We are processing so much as a human collective. Sometimes I myself need to sit down and let the energy move through me in whatever way in needs to. In those moments I am acutely aware that I am serving as a “hub” for the flow and integration of energy – I am processing not just for myself, but also on behalf of the collective. This summer solstice affirmation and meditation is directed toward the planet, and the human collective.

When Shit Hits The Fan : 5 Things I Learned From Breaking Up (That You Can Learn Too)

5 Things I Learned from Breaking Up - Tara Nikita

ONE:

Well, as it turns out, my capacity to love was so much more than I thought. I discovered that I had so much more love inside me than I realized. Looking back, I see quite clearly that breaking up broke me open. It broke me open so that more love could pour out. It stretched me. It increased my love quotient.

TWO:

I learned that I was always creating the relationship I wanted. I realized the dissolution of my relationship was actually a powerfully creative act. (If you speak Tarot, think the Tower card and it’s deeper question: what creation can come from this destruction?). My love life didn’t end with breaking up. By breaking up I wasn’t starting over. I was continuing to build on something I already started. I was continuing to design the relationship I wanted – with amended architectural and interior design features. Maybe not so much colonial. Still colonial (I mean who doesn’t love colonial), but with more modern elements. Maybe more open concept. I switched out the stainless steel for a farmhouse sink (because farmhouse sinks are infinitely more charming).
